Can I check the person and the pharmacy?
As of September 28, 2026, Connecticut’s free eLicense search listed health professionals and pharmacies. It also listed pharmacies outside the state that had permission to send medicine into Connecticut.
- Ask the care service for the full name and licence number.
- Choose the licence type that matches the person’s role.
- For an out-of-state pharmacy, the search type is “PHARMACY - NONRESIDENT PHARMACY.”
- Match the record to the name the service gave you.
- Check whether the licence is active.
Connecticut required its permission for pharmacies outside the state to mail you prescription medicine here, as of September 28, 2026. This permission is called state registration.
For made-to-order injections, an out-of-state pharmacy needed extra Connecticut approval before sending them here.
A current licence is permission to practise; it is not a promise of good care.
Slow down at a big claim
What claims deserve a pause?
The US medicine-review agency is the Food and Drug Administration, shortened to FDA.
Is “FDA registered” being used as proof?
“FDA registered” means the business is recorded with the FDA. As of September 26, 2026, that record did not prove the FDA had approved the business or any medicine it sold.
The registration alone does not tell you what checks were done on a medicine.
National Drug Code is the full name of NDC: a number showing which product a drug-list entry describes.
Having that number or being on the FDA’s drug list does not prove a medicine has FDA approval.
Is the made-to-order drug called “the same”?
Compounded means made to order.
In guidance checked September 26, 2026, the FDA said that calling a compounded drug “the same” as an approved drug was misleading.
Ask why the pharmacy needs to make your medicine to order. Could an approved medicine meet your need instead?
Is a prescription being skipped?
Handing out a prescription medicine with no valid prescription violated federal law as of September 26, 2026.
A prescription is the order a licensed clinician gives for a medicine.
If symptoms are severe
When to get urgent help
A tongue that swells or breathing that becomes difficult may signal a severe allergic reaction.
Severe allergic symptoms need emergency help.
Call 911, or go straight to the emergency room nearest to you.
Where can I raise a concern in Connecticut?
In state guidance checked September 28, 2026, Connecticut’s health department took complaints about licensed clinicians.
It could act on a licence, but it could not recover money for you.
Pharmacy complaints went to the state’s consumer protection department.
That department did not investigate medicine prices.
Complaint information could become public.
